On Sept 26, 2014, Professor Aaren Freeman and 27 students from Adelphi University spent the day out on the Wantagh SPLASH boat. Rob Weltner, Captain Gary Smith and his 1st mate Bill were the hosts to the students who were studying what you will find on a beach walk along the inlet and estuary. They researched invertabrates, clams, oysters and crabs. Students also took bottom samples in Jones Inlet and did a trawl for photo and zoo plankton. What a fun day!
